BUSINESS CONSULTING — EAST MALAYSIA
A considered outside view
for your business

WHY WIRA PRAXIS
What makes our approach different
Grounded in East Malaysia
Our work begins from a serious familiarity with Sarawak and Sabah — the business culture, the regulatory landscape, and the community arrangements that shape how firms operate here.
Written deliverables you can use
Every engagement concludes with a document intended for use inside the firm — practical, measured, and without the padding that makes reports difficult to act on.
Listening before advising
We spend the first part of every engagement understanding the firm on its own terms — before offering any observations. The businesses we work with rarely need to be told what is wrong; they need help thinking it through.
Community-aware practice
Work on NCR land and resource operations is conducted with proper regard for longstanding community arrangements — a consideration that is often absent from outside advisors who are unfamiliar with the region.
Transparent scope and fees
Our engagements are priced and scoped clearly from the outset. There are no retainer lock-ins and no expansion of scope without your agreement. You know what you are paying for before any work begins.
Sector-specific experience
Resource-sector operations — plantation, timber, palm oil — carry rhythms and constraints that general consultants often overlook. We have worked inside these cycles and bring that experience to every operating model review.

Is this a conversation worth having?
If you are considering a structured review of your business — or facing a decision where an outside perspective might help — we are happy to talk through whether an engagement would be useful before you commit to anything.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Things people ask before getting in touch
How does the SME Diagnostic work in practice?
We begin with a brief telephone conversation to understand the context. If both sides feel the engagement is appropriate, we arrange a site visit — usually half a day — followed by a structured conversation with the owner and one or two senior staff. Over the remaining weeks we review what we have observed and prepare a short written summary of findings and considerations. The document is yours to use as you see fit.
Does the NCR advisory replace legal counsel?
No. Our work in this area is advisory and relational — we help map the current arrangement and build a framework for sustainable working. Questions of legal right and title remain with the firm's own legal advisors. We are careful to be clear about this boundary throughout the engagement.
How long does the Resource-Sector Operating Model Review take?
The engagement runs over four months. We hold a steering session with your leadership team each month, which keeps the work moving at a pace that does not disrupt your operations. The closing presentation to the board is scheduled at a time that suits the business calendar.
What sectors do you have experience in?
We work primarily with SMEs and resource-adjacent businesses in East Malaysia — plantation, timber, palm oil, and the service firms that support these industries. We also work with owner-managed businesses in trading, logistics, and professional services based in Sarawak and Sabah.
Are there ongoing commitments after the engagement?
No. Each engagement has a defined scope and a defined end. There are no retainers and no automatic follow-on work. Some clients return for a subsequent engagement the following year or when facing a new decision; that is entirely at their discretion.
How is the fee structured — is it paid upfront?
For the SME Diagnostic, the full fee is invoiced at the start of the engagement. For the NCR Advisory and Operating Model Review, fees are staged — typically half at commencement and half at completion. We discuss the arrangement clearly before any work begins.
